Forest garden project in Konstancin. Concrete and nature on 3000 m²

Due to the nature of the site, our project in Konstancin-Jeziorna has an outstanding forest character. The main goal of the concept work was for us to emphasize this uniqueness. We focused on the selection of plant species that are appropriate to the natural habitat. We wanted to achieve a sense of lightness and mystery that accompanies wandering through the forest, while at the same time introducing a modern order.

Landscaping. Architectural concrete walls

The house is located on an escarpment, and the terrain sloped naturally towards the border of the plot. To encircle this space, we used undersized retaining walls made of architectural concrete. Thanks to this procedure, we obtained level planes (terrain terraces). They are much more comfortable to use than the wild slopes, and the raw concrete provides a perfect background for the forest greenery.

Entrance zone. Geometry and integration

In the entrance area we designed a representative staircase made of concrete. Our goal was to maximally integrate this zone with the modern body of the building. Particularly noteworthy here is the opposing run of planes:

  • Wide entrance stairs.
  • Driveway. We connected them with a steep geometric field staircase, which gives the front of the property a dynamic, sculptural character.

Garden pavilion. Forest asylum

In a secluded corner of the garden we placed an open pavilion. We equipped it with comfortable seating. We tightly covered this place with appropriate plantings. In this way we created an intimate zone of relaxation, immersed in the forest landscape.
