ROOF GARDEN 002

A rooftop garden project in Marymont. Jacuzzi and summer kitchen (175 m²).
The space we found on this Warsaw rooftop was difficult and uncluttered. The investors planned a large number of elements here. Our task was to arrange them functionally. In the “Garden on the Roof 002” project, we turned architectural flaws into assets. We created a multifunctional outdoor living room.
Functionality. Use of niches
The key to success was to make full use of the recesses against the building wall.
- Summer kitchen: We converted one of the alcoves into a fully functional garden kitchen. We equipped it with a grill and a sink.
- Utility area: we adapted the second alcove as a discreet storage area for garden accessories.
Relaxation zone under the pergola
In the central area we placed comfortable corner sofas. We concentrated the lounge space around a unique table with a hearth (bio-fireplace). A metal structure dominates over the whole. It serves as a frame for light blinds. They allow to regulate the amount of shade on hot days. Slightly to the side, we also designated a dining area. We “framed” it with plants in impressive, illuminated pots.
Open spa area and lighting
The second area of the terrace, devoid of a canopy, is the realm of the sun.
- Jacuzzi and deck chairs: We have created a private open-air spa here.
- Privacy: we fenced off this part from the neighboring garden with tall ornamental grasses. These provide intimacy while bathing.
The lamps and warm materials have made the space cozy. It encourages people to spend leisure time outside even after dark.
