RIVER PARK

River Park estate greenery in Poznan. Patio on the garage ceiling (6300 m²).

The project commissioned to us in Poznań included a comprehensive arrangement of the area around the River Park residential complex. The task was multifaceted: from a publicly accessible interior patio, through intimate gardens at private apartments, to street greenery. Our goal was to create a cohesive space that softens the modern architecture.

Inner courtyard. A green oasis of tranquility

The dominant element of the project is the inner courtyard. This space was intended to serve as a secluded resting place for residents.

• Isolation from the street: We decided on an enclosed patio form. We separated it from traffic with compact plantings of tall shrubs and espalier trees.
• Children’s zone: we set aside a safe part of the courtyard for a playground, integrating it with the greenery.

Technical challenges. Garden on the ceiling

Most of the green area is located on the ceiling of the underground garage, which posed a major engineering challenge. To introduce tall plants here, we used intensive roof technology and large-format pots. In them, we planned plantings of not-high trees with shapely crowns. As a result, residents can enjoy shade and crown views from their windows.

Consistency with architecture

Despite the diversity of functions (playground, relaxation zones, communication), the entire premise remains consistent. The species selection of accompanying and street greenery corresponds with the character of the modern, elegant development of the estate. We carried out this project in close cooperation with the architectural studio Adaptic Architekci.
